New South Wales has recorded 98 new coronavirus cases, including 20 that were infectious in the community.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the 20 number is the figure authorities are really keen to nudge to free Greater Sydney from lockdown. We need to get ahead of that number in order to reduce the cases in the community and the closer we get that number to zero, the sooner we can end the lockdown, she said.
