COVID-19: Second death this week as 89 new cases recorded in NSW
A man in his 70s is the second person to die in the space of four days from COVID-19 as the outbreak continues to grow with 89 cases recorded on Tuesday.

NSW has recorded 89 new cases and one new COVID-19 death - a man in his 70s who lived in Sydney s eastern suburbs.
The man in his 70s marks the second death from COVID-19 in 10 months.
When asked whether the man was vaccinated, Dr Chant did not confirm but instead sent her sympathies to his family.

Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant has admitted she is “concerned” about the risk of seeding events in regional New South Wales in the wake of the outbreak in Sydney and could impose further restrictions.
She noted the Berejiklian government has introduced “protective measures” in the regions such as the mask mandate.
The Mayor of Goulburn has called for tighter restrictions around essential work to prevent the spread of COVID-19 into NSW regional centres.
Bob Kirk s comments come after a painter infected with coronavirus travelled almost 200 kilometres from Sydney to a building site in Goulburn.
The sub-contractor from Fairfield in the city s south-west was employed to work on the town s hospital re-development site and was able to travel out of Greater Sydney under the essential work exemption.

Every time anyone leaves their home they should assume that anyone they re interacting with has COVID and act accordingly to protect themselves and their loved ones.
Mr Hazzard detailed the health order, confirming people who are subject to a test every three days, or seven for travellers to the regions, will need to carry proof of their test result in case they are stopped and checked by police.
