Govt to strictly enforce lockdown SOPs on Eid

LAHORE:The Punjab government has decided to strictly enforce the lockdown to restrict the movement of people on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr.
Action will be taken action against the violators of the lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus. The decision was taken during a meeting held at Civil Secretariat on Tuesday to review the situation of coronavirus in the province.
Provincial Law Minister Raja Basharat, Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid, the Punjab chief secretary, additional chief secretary, additional chief secretary (Home), administrative secretaries of Health Department, Director General of Public Relations and senior civil and military officials attended the meeting.

ISLAMABAD/LAHORE: The national tally on Wednesday of total active COVID-19 cases recorded 84,480 with 4,113 more people tested positive for the deadly virus and 5,665 people recovered from the disease during the last 24 hours. While, the Punjab government have decided to enforce a complete lockdown in the provinces from May 8.
According to the latest update issued by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), one hundred and nineteen corona patients have died during past 24 hours, 106 of whom were under treatment in hospital and 13 out of the hospital in their respective quarantines or homes,.
During the past 24 hours, most of the deaths have occurred in the Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Out of the total 119 deaths occurred in the last 24 hours 38 of them had died who were under treatment on ventilators.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reported at least 108 more fatalities due to coronavirus during the past 24 hours on Thursday.
After the addition of new fatalities, the total death toll has risen to 18,537 in Pakistan as the country fights with the deadly third wave of the coronavirus.
The highest death toll in the last 24 hours was in Punjab, with the province reporting 68 fatalities.
As per the official website of the National Command Operation Centre (NCOC) on Thursday, about 4,198 cases were reported when 46,467 tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.
Pakistan Railways to run 11 special passenger trains for Eid
First Eid special train from Karachi to Lahore will depart on Friday, says Railways Ministry
The Pakistan Railways on Thursday decided to run 11 special passenger trains on Eidul Fitr.
According to the Ministry of Railways, the first Eid special train from Karachi to Lahore will depart on Friday. Similarly, a special train from Lahore to Karachi will also depart tomorrow (May 7).
The Eid special train from Karachi to Rawalpindi will leave on May 11 of this month while the Eid special train from Karachi to Multan will leave on May 12.
The government had earlier announced Eid holidays from May 10 to 15 with a clear intention of reducing national mobility .
