FG releases fresh regulations for Covid-19 On President Mohammadu Buhari Wednesday issued Coronavirus Disease Health Protection Regulations 2021. The President, through a statement from the Ministry of Information and Culture, said a physical distance of at least two metres shall be maintained at all times between persons at all gatherings. Notwithstanding the provision of Regulation 1, he also insisted that no gathering of more than 50 persons shall hold in an enclosed space, except for religious purposes, in which case the gathering shall not exceed 50% capacity of the space. The President in the statement all directed that all persons in public gatherings, whether in enclosed or open spaces, shall adhere to the provisions of Part 2 of these Regulations.

Eastleigh police stop two men breaching lockdown

POLICE in Eastleigh have reported two men from summons for breaching Covid rules. The two men (aged 24 and 31) from separate households in London were caught travelling between London and Hampshire without lawful reason. They were stopped by police on Highbridge Road. On Facebook, Eastleigh Police said: We’ve reported for summons, in relation to fixed penalty notices, two men for breaches of the current Health Protection Regulations in Eastleigh. It’s after we stopped a vehicle yesterday afternoon on Highbridge Road. Two men from London, a 24-year-old man and a 31-year-old man, who were from different households were subsequently reported for summons as they had no lawful reason for travelling between London and Hampshire.

Covid: Men who travelled from Isle of Wight to New Forest fined

THREE men who travelled to the New Forest via Dorset from the Isle of Wight to look at a second-hand car have been issued with fines for breaching coronavirus regulations. Officers conducted a routine stop of a vehicle at 11.55am on Thursday, January 21, in the village of Ower. This came after officers spotted three men in the same vehicle. A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said officers spoke with the owner of the stopped vehicle and it transpired that they had travelled from the Isle of Wight to view a second-hand car. The three men, a 23-year-old from East Cowes, a 22-year-old from East Cowes and an 18-year-old from Wootton were all issued with fixed penalty notices.

Five people were arrested in London for breaching Covid restrictions as protestors carrying Black Lives Matter signs demonstrated in Parliament Sqaure following the death of a 24-year-old man.   Mohamud Mohammed Hassan was arrested on Friday evening last week after reports of a disturbance at his home but was released the following morning without charge.
