Man charged with attempted murder in Marko’s shooting

LIMA A Lima man is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Allen County Common Pleas Court in connection with a March shooting at Marko’s Sports and Spirits.
Chainze Tucker, 32, of Lima, was indicted earlier this month by a grand jury on charges of attempted murder, a first-degree felony with firearm and repeat violent offender specifications in connection with the shooting of Ralph Upshaw outside the South Main Street bar. The indictment alleges Tucker “did attempt to purposely cause the death of Ralph Upshaw.”
Tucker was also indicted on a charge of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, also with an RVO specification, and for having weapons under disability, a felony of the third degree.

David Harris, 52, of Lima, pleaded guilty Friday to single counts of rape and kidnapping, felonies of the first degree, for holding a woman hostage and sexually assaulting her on New Year’s Day. He will be sentenced June 30.

Lima man pleads guilty in rape of 13-year-old

Curtis Soles, 41, of Lima, will be sentenced in June after pleading guilty on Monday to two counts of rape involving a 13-year-old girl. Soles fled the area last November after being identified as a suspect in the case. He was picked up Dec. 29 in Alabama and was returned to Allen County to face the charges against him.

LIMA Hanging his head and speaking in a barely audible voice, a Lima man on Monday pleaded guilty to two counts of rape involving a 13-year-old girl.
Defendants sentenced in Allen County courtrooms
LIMA The following individuals were sentenced recently in Allen County Common Pleas Court:
Darod Florence, 23, of Lima, was sentenced to 24 months in prison for possession of a fentanyl-related compound.
Vera Vaske, 53, of Lima, was sentenced to five years on probation for felonious assault.
Direhyl Banks, 33, in custody of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, was sentenced to nine months in prison for having a weapon under disability. The sentence will be served consecutively to a Franklin County case.
James Dunlap, 23, of Louisville, Kentucky, was sentenced to three years on probation for the possession of marijuana.
