Alberta’s police watchdog is investigating the death of a 50-year-old man who was restrained by Edmonton police officers inside an ambulance last week, and died three days later.
Paramedics responded to a call at around 11:15 p.m. last Thursday and found a man unresponsive on the floor inside a home. They called police shortly before midnight because “the patient had reportedly become combative,” according to a Tuesday news release from the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team.
