Toyota has cemented its position as Australia’s most trusted car brand during the COVID-19 pandemic and emerging economic recovery, according to the results of a national survey released today.
The country’s top-selling automotive brand was named as the top-ranked car company in the 2021 Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Brands survey.
It is the 16th year in a row that Toyota Australia has been recognised as having the highest level of consumer trust in the local industry.

Toyota has launched a more stylish, safer facelifted Camry with a revised range that offers a hybrid powertrain in every grade, including the sporty Camry SX for the first time.
The new range reflects the ever-growing demand for Toyota’s petrol electric hybrid models that help deliver on its commitment to a sustainable future while offering customers lower running costs.
The 160kW 2.5-litre hybrid powertrain is now offered in the entry-level Ascent, Ascent Sport, SX sports model and top-of-the-range SL.
A 152kW 2.5-litre four-cylinder dynamic force petrol engine, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission will also be available on the Ascent.
Toyota has launched the all-new Mirai in an extended demonstration program that will see 20 examples leased by pioneering organisations and businesses.
Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley said Toyota was a firm believer that hydrogen fuel cell technology could play a central role in reducing emissions and it was committed to helping drive towards a cleaner society.
“When we launched the Prius hybrid 20 years ago, we started a drive towards helping reduce emissions from our vehicles through a process of electrification,” Mr Hanley said.
“Today, we offer hybrid powertrains in seven vehicle lines and we have sold more than 200,000 Toyota hybrids over the past two decades.
