It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Skok announces his passing in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Friday, December 18, 2020, at the age of 71 years. Peter was born in Hanau, Germany on March 29, 1949. He grew up in Hamilton, Ontario. He spent many years working in the Grain Elevators and working at the Hydro Camp. He had a passion for carpentry. He showed great love for his family and friends. He was a good family man, good friend and was loved by all. Peter is survived by his wife Norma; sons Michael (Kelly) and Richard (Laurie); daughter Jennifer; multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings Lubba Janonovich, Zina Kusmenko, Andre, Howard (Dianne) Boyezuk; as well as numerous nieces, nephew and other relatives. He is also survived by his loving friend Marcy Berube.

Thunder Bay Courthouse THUNDER BAY A Peterborough, Ont., man facing charges of attempted murder in connection to a drug-related shooting was freed on bail on Monday following a detention review in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Brandon Wayne Kelly, 27, was arrested by Thunder Bay police in June after officers identified him as a suspect in connection to a May 3 shooting in the city. Police were dispatched to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre after a man had crashed his vehicle into a barricade on the hospital’s property. An investigation revealed the man had been shot prior to his arrival at the hospital.
