SOUTHEAST, NY A Connecticut man has died three days after a three-car crash on Route 22 in Putnam County, New York State police said.
Police said their initial investigation into the April 26 crash revealed that Ricardo Bregante of Carmel was driving north on the shoulder of Route 22, passing cars on the right, when he smashed into a car turning right from the northbound lane into the Gulf Station at 1565 Route 22.
Bregante, 57, was driving a 2008 Honda CRV.

The 2017 Ford Edge he hit was operated by Christopher T. Hammill, 47, of Stamford. The collision caused Hammill to strike a 2018 Toyota Highlander in the gas station parking lot.

BRISTOL, RI Police are investigating after six racist stickers were found around town over the weekend. The stickers featured images of Nazis, emblazoned with the phrase white boy summer.
A member of the public reported the first sticker around 2 p.m. Saturday, found on the outer window of Rogers Library on Hope Street. The person took down the sticker, and later gave it to police.
Later that day, another person reported that they found a second, identical sticker on a mailbox outside the nearby Hope Street post office. Police then combed through downtown, finding four more stickers on signs around Independence Park. All stickers were removed by officers and considered evidence in the investigation.

ELMONT, NY A Long Island woman who was badly burned when a hazardous material was poured on her is sharing details of the frightening episode.
Nafiah Ikram, a 21-year-old student at Hofstra University, told ABC7 that it felt like her face was on fire and then I couldn t breathe too. This was a worse-than-death experience. I was in that ambulance and I felt my chest being ripped out of my soul. That s how much pain I was in.

AVON LAKE, OH Two overdoses are being investigated in Avon Lake, according to newly released police reports.
On April 10, police were called to a home on Parkwood Avenue for a reported overdose. When officers arrived, they found a man in the throes of an opioid overdose. He was taken to Cleveland Clinic Avon for treatment.
Eight days later, on April 18, 911 callers reported a drug overdose at a home on Fox Chappel Lane. Officers found an overdosing woman in the home, treated her and then had her taken to Cleveland Clinic Avon for evaluation.
