INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) A person died Tuesday night after being shot at a downtown hotel a block away from Monument Circle, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says.
Police responded just before 10 p.m. to a report of a person shot at the Sheraton Hotel at 31 W. Ohio St. Officers found a victim with a gunshot wound.
The suspected shooter, 35-year-old Dominic Johnson, fled into an alley and was quickly taken into custody. Johnson has been charged with murder and is in the Marion County Jail as of Wednesday night.
Police believe the shooting was targeted and the suspect may have been trying to get into a different building.
