Indianapolis police are investigating after a man was found shot to death in the parking lot of a northeast side motel early Thursday morning, according to officials.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to a motel in the 6800 block of East 21st Street near the intersection with Shadeland Avenue on a report of a person shot at 12:18 a.m.
Arriving officers found a man with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the motel, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to IMPD officials. The Marion County Coroner s Office later Thursday morning identified the deceased as 22-year-old Marquise Lang and said Lang died of a gunshot wound.

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to the March shooting death of another teen on the northeast side of Indianapolis, officials said Thursday.
Ke’Sean Jones, 14, was shot and killed in the 4000 block of East 34th Street near the intersection with Forest Manor Avenue at 8 p.m. March 10, according to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department records.
Police at the time reported the shooting was being investigated as an self-inflicted person shot incident. But the coroner on Thursday said Jones died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen and ruled his death a homicide.
IMPD officials said the Marion County Prosecutor s Office has preliminarily charged the 15-year-old, who was arrested April 27, with reckless homicide. His identity has not been released.
