Sikh Community Pushes Gun Control After FedEx Attack

Members of the Sikh community gathered with Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett (D) Saturday and called for more gun control in the wake of the FedEx attack.
The Associated Press reports Sikh Coalition’s Aasees Kaur said, ““We must support one another, not just in grief, but in calling our policymakers and elected officials to make meaningful change. The time to act is not later, but now. We are far too many tragedies, too late, in doing so.”
Kiran Deol said, “We need more reform. We need gun laws to be harder, stronger, so that responsible people are the ones that have guns. That’s what we want to bring awareness to.”

A gunman on Thursday killed eight people at a FedEx warehouse facility near Indianapolis airport in the US state of Indiana before killing himself. When reporting it was at least the 45th mass shooting in the US since March 16, CNN wrote, Stunning, right? Sad, right? Outrageous, right? It is reported so far, mass shootings in the US have increased nearly 73 percent from the same period last year.

Indianapolis mayor says no evidence will restore the lives lost in FedEx shooting

INDIANAPOLIS – The suspected gunman in the mass shooting that left eight people dead at a FedEx building legally purchased the two rifles used in the massacre just months after a shotgun was seized from his home, authorities said.
A trace of the two guns revealed that suspect Brandon Scott Hole, 19, legally bought the rifles in July and September last year, police said. Police declined to say where Hole bought the guns, citing the ongoing investigation.
