Indian govt dismisses ‘incorrect’ media report cautioning Covid-19’s 2nd wave Star Digital Report Star Digital Report A forum of scientists of the Indian government today termed incorrect a media report that suggested that they had cautioned in early March about the more contagious second wave of Covid-19 but no attention was paid to it. The three scientists also acknowledged that they could not earlier predict the exact trajectory of the second wave because of the rapidly-changing nature of the virus, reports our New Delhi correspondent. The scientists are Manindra Agrawal, professor of Indian Institute of  Technology, Kanpur; Madhuri Kanitkar, deputy chief of Integrated Defense Staff and M Vidyasagar, professor of Indian Institute of Technology in Hyderabad.

Dr. SheikhBahaei received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley, where he worked with Dr. Bob Zucker on the regulation of neurotransmitter release and Dr. John Rubenstein (UC San Francisco) on development of GABAergic neurons in basal ganglia. Dr. SheikhBahaei completed his doctoral studies in Neuroscience (2017) jointly under NIMH/NINDS – University College London (UCL) Graduate Partnership Program where he worked with Drs. Jeffrey Smith (NINDS) and Alexander Gourine (UCL). His graduate studies were on how astrocytic networks control activities of respiratory motor circuits within the brainstem. Bharadwaj had requested a medical evaluation two weeks ago, her family members who spoke to her on phone, told Indian Express. Apart from her regular diabetes, she has been suffering from diarrhoea and loss of appetite, among other health complications.
