At least 79 residents of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chennai tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, taking the number of infected on the campus to 183. The cluster of cases in IIT-Madras has prompted the government to instruct officials to monitor other colleges and universities across the state.
Synopsis
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), IIT-K would offer the three courses, M Tech, MS by Research, and BT-MT Dual Degree in cyber security from August 2021. The programs would start with a limited number of seats with plans to gradually scale up in size and scope. Admissions for the courses will commence during the April-May 2021 cycle.

Seventy nine more people have tested positive for coronavirus on the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras campus here, taking the tally in the institution to 183, a senior health official said on Tuesday. Out of the 978 samples lifted from the IIT-M since December 1, a total of 183 people have tested positive till date and results for 25 specimens alone were yet to be received, Tamil Nadu Health Secretary, J Radhakrishnan said.
