On Wednesday, Indiana State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box announced that the state would be opening a portal for “critical infrastructure businesses” to request masks and hand sanitizer, and also would be shipping more supplies to schools.
The state of Indiana is changing its definition of close contact exposures in the classroom. This comes as new data shows that student infections of COVID-19 are rare in the classroom where everyone is wearing a mask.

Gov. Eric Holcomb on Thursday said he is extending his executive order imposing county-level restrictions in the state based on the spread of coronavirus in Indiana.
“The executive order will be extended for a week, and then we will look at what that will do in terms of how we are managing this locally as well events, capacity numbers, et cetera, Holcomb said during the state s weekly COVID-19 briefing. But (we re) heading on the right path.”
