PTI Ladakh recorded 245 new COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day spike this year, pushing the virus case count in the Union Territory to 11,709, an official bulletin said on Saturday. The detection of the new cases - 236 in Leh and nine in Kargil - during the past 24 hours, raised the number of active cases to 1,363, the bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Services, Ladakh said.

The UT of Ladakh also reported 186 fresh Corona cases. One Corona casualty each was reported from Jammu and Kashmir divisions. While there were 730 new cases in the Valley, the number was 414 in Jammu. A 79-year-old woman from Ward No. 67 Lower Barnai in Jammu district died of COVID-19 and other complications in ASCOMS Sidhra today taking Corona toll in Jammu region to 759 and Jammu district to 396.

Ladakh records over 800 coronavirus cases in 10 days, infection tally crosses 11,000 Representational Image LEH: The Union Territory of Ladakh recorded more than 800 coronavirus cases in the past 10 days, pushing the infection tally to 11,070, officials said on Wednesday. One person died of COVID-19 in Leh district during the period, taking the death toll in the union territory to 131. The highest single-day spike of 165 cases was reported on Tuesday. The number of active cases in the Union Territory as on date stands at 851 785 in Leh and 66 in Kargil district the officials said. Quoting data released by the Directorate of Health Services, the officials said 626 of the new cases were detected in Leh district from April 8 to April 13 and 32 cases in Kargil.
