On Saturday, July 3, 2021, rescuers from Boulder County responded to three rescues west of Boulder.
At approximately 12:54 p.m. the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a hiker who was lightheaded and not feeling well while descending the Fern Canyon Trail. Rescuers hiked up the Trail and met the 69-year-old male hiker from Longmont, CO, slowly descending the trail with his companions. The hiker was medically evaluated by rescuers and all agreed to continue hiking down the trail to the Bear Canyon Road, where he and his companions were transported back to their vehicles at NCAR. The rescue took approximately one hour and forty minutes.

BOULDER, Colo. The strums of a guitar filled Marisa Mostek’s living room on a rainy Sunday afternoon. It was the perfect kind of weather to serenade a guinea pig.
“Who am I going to hold?” she asked aloud. This was the first time she was serenading Dave, her black and white guinea pig, but indeed he was not the first pig she has sung to.
Rescuers were called to the Second Boulder Flatiron on Sunday after a 25-year-old male climber became stuck on the formation while attempting to ascend it with no ropes.
