BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) â Advocates for safe injection sites met in Niagara Square Friday to send a message to Governor Andrew Cuomo.
âDeclare a State of Emergency for New York State and create pilot programs for overdose prevention centers,â said Ryan Thoresen Carson, the Executive Director of No OD NY.
They want safe injection sites in New York, places where drug users can go to safely and cleanly use drugs. The sites they say also provide support and education for those who use drugs and can save lives.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) â The Erie County Department of Health is warning about a potential COVID-19 exposure to participants and staff at the Tabernacle Youth Program in Orchard Park.
A case investigation revealed that potential exposures took place on Friday, July 23.
The health department says staff, volunteers and families who participated in youth program activities at the Tabernacle in Orchard Park on July 23 should seek a diagnostic COVID-19 test.

As a result, starting Saturday, July 31, anyone entering an Erie County building or facility must wear a face mask. The mandate applies to all employees, vendors, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status.
