Bradley O’Connor, of Hollansburg, pleaded guilty to count two of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony and count three of receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony. As a part of the agreement, count one of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, was dismissed. He faces a restitution of $510, a maximum of 18 months in prison and up to $5,000 fine. He will be sentenced on Monday, July 19. Eric Cook, of Hollansburg, offered a guilty plea to one count of theft, a fifth-degree felony. Cook submitted a memorandum requesting that he participate in an intervention program in lieu of a conviction. Three enter pleas in court By Abigail Miller - DarkeCountyMedia.com Bright GREENVILLE Three people appeared in Darke County Common Pleas Court on Monday. Judge Jonathan P. Hein presided. Stephen D. Bright, 41, of Piqua, appeared in court via video uplink from the Darke County Jail for a motion to revoke probation, due to a failure to report and violating laws in both Darke County and Montgomery County. Bright was on probation for one count of trafficking heroin, a fifth-degree felony. The court entered a denial on behalf of Bright and has required he retain counsel within 10 days. Bright was released on his own recognizance with his probable cause hearing set for June 7.

Commissioners approve school resource officers By Abigail Miller - DarkeCountyMedia.com GREENVILLE The Darke County Board of Commissioners met Monday afternoon to discuss fund transfers, recycling and county school resource officers. Commissioners Matt Aultman, Mike Stegall, and Larry Holmes were all present. The board approved Resolution (R-154-2021), to transfer $30,000 from the general fund to the annual court research and computerization fund. This is the first of three annual $30,000 fund transfers that will go toward updating the Darke County Common Pleas Court research and computer system. The court will receive $90,000 total by 2024 for its planned updates. Next, the board approved an Addendum to Contract between Darke County Solid Waste and Rumpke of Ohio. The addendum ensures Rumpke will provide a second recycling bin to Butler Township. A second bin is needed due to the large amount of service the first bin receives.

Three appear in Common Pleas Court Flatter GREENVILLE Three people appeared in Darke County Common Pleas Court on Thursday. Judge Jonathan P. Hein presided. Dillon A. Flatter, 22, of New Madison, entered a guilty plea to one count of possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony. Flatter submitted a memorandum requesting that he participate in an intervention program in lieu of a conviction. He faces up to one year in prison and a $2,500 fine. Daniel W. McCarty, 51, of Gettysburg, was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 90 days days suspended and zero days credit, 24 months of community control sanctions and 25 hours of community service to charges involving fleeing and eluding. A jury found McCarty guilty of the failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer (with no serious risk or harm), a first-degree misdemeanor, driving under suspension, a first-degree misdemeanor and resisting arrest, a second-degree misdemeanor.
