AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - An Akron man pleaded guilty Tuesday to killing his live-in girlfriend in November 2019.
Summit County Court of Common Pleas Judge Kelly McLaughlin then sentenced Ricardo Marshall to 15 years to life in prison for the murder of Kathy Landino, 40. Ricardo Marshall was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. (Source: Akron police)
Marshall called 911 around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 21, 2019 and said he found Landino not breathing.
When officers and EMS arrived at the home in the 600 block of Chittenden Street, Landino was found on the first floor and pronounced dead at the scene.
One dead after car catches fire in Akron crash

AKRON, Ohio – A 34-year-old man died early Saturday after the car he was driving crashed and caught fire, police said.
The crash happened about 2:20 a.m. near the intersection of Manning and Russell avenues, just north of Interstate 77 in Akron’s Sherbondy Hill neighborhood, Akron police spokesman Lt. Michael Miller said.
The man, whose name was not immediately released, was driving a Chevy Corvette westbound on Russell Avenue when he lost control, Miller said. The car hit a utility pole at the intersection with Manning Avenue, and then continued onto Manning Avenue, hitting a stop sign and coming to rest atop another car parked inside a garage.
