Antique tractor club to meet Feb. 16
The regular meeting of the First State Antique Tractor Club will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Greenwood VFW, at the corner of Governors Avenue and Mill Street, Greenwood. The club is now planning its annual show at the Laurel Farmers Auction Market, the last weekend of June. Upcoming club business will be addressed. Scholarship applications are due mid-April and are available on the website: firststateantiquetractorclub.com. CDC guidelines will be practiced at this meeting. All who are planning to attend are asked to bring their face masks with them and keep the safe distance of six feet apart. Light refreshments will be served. The club is always accepting new members. BRAZOS COUNTY, TX â Ash Wednesday will mark the beginning of Lent this week, an important occasion for many followers of the Christian faith.
Typically, worshipers might attend an Ash Wednesday service. In the Brazos Valley, however, both the pandemic and the recent winter storm may prevent people from flocking to their houses of worship. Some churches, like St. Andrewâs Episcopal in Bryan, are considering their options should the roads remain slick with ice.
Blaine H. âBuckâ McIntosh
PITTSBURGH, Pa. Blaine H. “Buck” McIntosh, 75, of Wellsville passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Buck was born in Wellsville on May 26, 1945 a son of the late John and Vivian (Cook) McIntosh. He was a 1963 graduate of Wellsville High School. Buck was a veteran of the Army proudly serving his country in the Vietnam War and was recognized as a sharpshooter.
Buck worked for 40 years starting at Crucible Steel and later retiring from J & L Steel where he worked as a motor inspector and electrician. He was a member of Southern Ruritan Club and was currently serving as their vice president. He was also a life member of the NRA and a founding and life member of Columbiana County Rod and Gun Club. Buck was an avid sportsman and loved deer hunting, trap shooting and going fishing. He and his brother Lew went on many hunting trips together over the past 60 years. He was also very prou
