An offering of a saree made of gold, weighing over 2 kg, for goddess Yellamma at a temple in Hyderabad is among the many programmes planned for Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao s birthday. Mr Rao turns 68 today.
The gold saree, said to be 2.5 kg, will be offered by his daughter K Kavitha, who is a Member of Legislative Council, along with Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav.

Nizamabad (Telangana) [India], February 16 (ANI): With a hope to serve thousands on an hourly basis, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Kavitha Kalvakuntla on Monday inaugurated a free meal centre in Telangana s Nizamabad. The number of free meal centres grew from 1 to 4 in 4 years and today it brings me immense joy to see the modern kitchen that will be able to serve thousands on an hourly basis. We are ready to serve more and more people from now onwards, Kalvakuntla wrote on her Twitter handle sharing pictures from the inauguration ceremony alongside the tweet.
The present owner, Manoj Khedkar, has renamed it as "Radha Cottage" and the 13-bedroom prime holiday resort offers a peek into the glorious history of Sir Pherozeshah s private residential complex in the "forest atop the mountain head", as Matheran means.
