Housing scheme for urban poor in Ranchi inaugurated | Ranchi News

Picture for representational purpose only. RANCHI/KODERMA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation of the Light House Project (LHP) in Ranchi on Friday. Under the LHP, a housing initiative for economically weaker sections in urban areas, 1,008 houses will be built in Ranchi. Modi laid the foundation stone via video-conference as chief minister Hemant Soren attended the event in Dhurwa along with Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth and Hatia MLA Navin Jaiswal. Speaking at the event, Soren underscored the need for the Centre to raise its financial support for the project. “Under the project, a beneficiary will have to afford Rs 7 lakh. I request the Prime Minister to increase Centre’s share so that thefinancial burden on poor people could be minimized. People living here have a low income and most of them are labourers.” The houses will be built with shares from the Centre, state and beneficiaries.
