As part of his plea deal, Charbonneau also agreed to make a $500 donation to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
The investigation was triggered after a complaint was made in January 2019 about Charbonneau’s actions, which dated back to 2017. Gatineau’s Professional Standards and Internal Affairs Division conducted the investigation after which a prosecutor authorized two charges: assault and the unauthorized use of a police database.
