Midlothian Police Department Under Scrutiny After Commander’s Daughter Released Following Traffic Stop
MIDLOTHIAN – It was around 2:30 a.m. on March 12 when the Mansfield Police Department contacted the Midlothian Police Department about a reckless driver heading that way.
The 21-year-old driver was in a red Jeep, and as it turned out, was the daughter of a Midlothian Police Commander.
She was immediately stopped when Midlothian Officer Philip Evitt turned on his lights at FM 663 near the cross street of Allen.
Up to that point everything had been done as most police officers are trained to do.
However, that is when things got a little confusing.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. â Newly obtained information raises new questions about the credibility of a key investigative report in the deadly shooting of a teen by an Overland Park police officer in 2018.
Former Overland Park Police Officer Clayton Jenison shot and killed 17-year-old John Albers as the boy was backing the family minivan out the garage.
The incident took place after police were called to the Albersâ home for a welfare check on the teen.
Updated: 2:50 PM EDT Apr 22, 2021 Boston Mayor Kim Janey is ordering the incoming leader of a new police accountability office to develop a plan for reviewing the department s internal affairs policy in light of revelations that an officer who was accused of sexually assaulting a child in the mid-90s remained on the force and rose to lead the police union. Janey s announcement Thursday came two days after her office released some redacted documents from the Internal Affairs Investigation into a 1995 child abuse allegation filed against Patrick Rose Sr. Other documents from Rose s file were not released, citing the need to keep the names of witnesses and victims of sexual assault confidential. I will not blame a child, I will not blame a victim who has been sexually assaulted. What I will continue to say is that an officer who has been accused of sexually abusing a child and that abuse was sustained by this department and that officer was not terminated, that is indefensibl
Officials said the suspect had a rifle and "was uncooperative with officers upon their contact," and was taken to the hospital. Nobody else was reported hurt.
