Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rolando Bautista has shared his latest award in public administration to the agency’s more than 35,000 personnel nationwide who have been devoting their lives to provide reliable and immediate social welfare and protection services to the country’s marginalised sectors, particularly the poor.

“This honor is shared to all the DSWD personnel who painstakingly perform their mandate for the love of God and country. To God be the glory,” he said in a message posted on DSWD Facebook page, after he received the Cavalier Award for Public Administration in this year’s Philippine Military Academy (PMA) alumni homecoming held on Saturday, Feb. 13.

The President said he chose former military men to lead the task force in charge of the pandemic response, including the vaccination drive, precisely to make sure such efforts will be “done correctly” and “with the least mistakes.”

This work ethic is the main reason President Duterte has chosen former military officers to join his government to deliver results, according to his spokesman, Secretary Harry Roque.
