Coun Richard Clewer WILTSHIRE Council has received more than 800 applications from local businesses for the Additional Restrictions Grant to help them through the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. To encourage as many eligible businesses as possible to apply for this round of funding, the council has extended the cut-off date for new applications for the ARG, also known as Discretionary Payments, to 23:59 on Monday. The grant supports businesses impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic that are not covered by other grant schemes, such as the Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) and the Christmas Support Payment (CSP). It is open for new applications only or for those who had previously applied before November 2020.
SUPPORT: Business grants available TO DATE more than £83.5m has been given out in the form of grants to thousands of Bolton businesses who have been forced to close or been severely impacted by local and national covid restrictions put in place. The Business Rates and Business Bolton teams have been working hard to process applications as quickly as possible and deal with all enquiries to provide help and support to as many businesses as they can. Valuable support has also been provided from other teams across the council to assist with process payments and keeping the team operational, including the IT systems and Support Service teams and as well as Housing Benefit and Council Tax Recovery Teams.

There’s no income stream for the magazine either because every venue has battened down the hatches,” he said. “They’ve locked down their budgets because there’s no revenue. I think we’ve had two clients that have paid for advertising since this started. Usually, it would be hundreds.”
