Double Jump has been appointed to manage PR for the Interactive Game & Entertainment Association (IGEA) and Creative Victoria’s Melbourne International Games Week.

The Interactive Games & Entertainment Association (IGEA) has appointed leading Australian games and technology marketing agency Double Jump Communications to manage its ongoing international and local PR plus an upcoming research project, Digital Australia and New Zealand 22. The Digital Games Tax Offset is a 30% tax relief to support Australia taking a greater share of the AU$250 billion global game development market, the announcement said.
The aim is to support business growth and change to the way Australian businesses can claim depreciation of intangible assets like intellectual property and in-house software, the announcement continued.

The Morrison Government today, 6 May 2021, has announced a 30% tax offset for video game development.
The announcement comes as part of this year’s Federal Budget, aiming to invest in Australia’s digital economy.
The 30% refundable tax offset will be eligible for businesses that spend a minimum of $500,000 on qualifying Australian games expenditure. The Government will consult with the industry mid-2021 to define the criteria of expenditure.
The Interactive Games & Entertainment Association (IGEA) has responded to the proposed changes, welcoming Australia’s first federal tax incentive for video game development.
