(WTOC) - The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance locating missing juvenile Joshua Wallace. The 16-year-old is not known to runaway but did leave on his own several days ago. He is 5′10″ and weighs 175lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a Georgia Bulldog shirt and a black hooded jacket. Anyone with information is asked to call the ECSO at 912-754-3449.

Fentanyl Seized As Part Of Drug Arrest In Effingham County

Effingham, IL / Effingham Radio Apr 6, 2021 12:53 PM Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Two Effingham County residents are in jail after being involved in a traffic stop in Effingham. On Saturday afternoon, April 3rd, an Effingham County Deputy stopped a Ford Van driven by Joshua D Mayberry, of Effingham, near Fayette Avenue. It was discovered that Mayberry was driving on a revoked Illinois Driver‘s License.  Effingham City Police K9 Siren was present at the traffic stop and conducted a free–air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle, indicating the presence of illegal narcotics. A search of the vehicle turned up several items of drug paraphernalia, suspected methamphetamine and Fentanyl.

(WTOC) - A tractor-trailer was hit by a train on Blue Jay Road in Effingham County on Monday. According to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, no one was injured in the crash. Beecher City Man Arrested After Fleeing

Effingham, IL / Effingham Radio Apr 4, 2021 9:19 AM Beecher City, IL -(Effingham Radio)- A Beecher City man is in custody after fleeing and eluding Police on Thursday, April 1st. At approximately 2:20 P.M., Effingham Police received information that John M. Durbin, 26, was in a parking lot at 1706 Ford Avenue changing a tire on a vehicle; Officers were aware that Durbin had two outstanding warrants in Effingham County for Domestic Battery and Fleeing/Eluding a Peace Officer.   Responding Officers from both Effingham City Police Department and Effingham County Sheriff’s Office located Durbin, who entered a vehicle which had been reported stolen in Fayette County. Durbin immediately fled the scene, striking three separate vehicles during the incident: a vehicle owned by Dustin Cade, Vandalia, an  Effingham County Sheriff’s Office squad car, and an Effingham Police Department squad car.  Durbin fled the scene of the accidents and proceeded out of Effingham at a high rate of
