Baseball will make its return to the Olympics after sitting on the sidelines in the 2012 and 2016 editions of the Games, and while the United States has not yet qualified, they will have two more opportunities to do so.
The Americas Qualifying Event, taking place in Florida May 31-June 5, will represent one chance, and the final Olympic qualifying tournament, set to be contested in Taiwan June 16-20, will be the other.
Four nations have qualified for the Olympics, with Japan, Israel, Mexico and South Korea taking part. Two more spots remain up for grabs.

The United States has already qualified for both team events in the Olympics, but two big dates remain on the calendar for athletes looking to represent their country in Tokyo.

With the 2021 Olympics now less than 100 days away (and facing a lot of questions along the way), both NBC and Telemundo have started to roll out some details on their coverage plans. One different platform for NBC’s coverage this year is NBCUniversal streaming service Peacock, and while the full details on what Olympic content will be available on Peacock aren’t yet spelled out, we do know of a couple of docuseries heading to the platform.
Back in February, Deadline broke the news of a three-part Michael Phelps docuseries coming to Peacock, with that series featuring Phelps, Rowdy Gaines and Dan Hicks looking back at Phelps’ career and rewatching some of his most famous races. At the 2016 Olympics in Rio, she won two gold medals. The first was in the 100-meter breaststroke and the other in the womenâs 4x100-meter medley.
