When E3 2021 was confirmed to be a digital only event, E3 organizers announced a list of developers, publishers and platform holders scheduled to take part. Square Enix wasn’t one of those initially announced, but in an interview with Nikkei, Square Enix president and CEO Yosuke Matsuda confirmed they are planning to be a part of E3 2021 and they’ll have some announcements to make.
While unconfirmed how they’ll take part, it will most likely by the publisher’s next Square Enix Presents showcase being flown under the E3 2021 banner, allowing them to both support E3 and continue with their own independent digital showcase.
As we get closer to June when the new all-digital E3 2021 experience is supposed to take place, major players are either outlining their part in the event or announcing their plans to be part of it. The latter was the case with Square Enix recently. The developer and publisher on titles such as Outriders, Final Fantasy 7 remake, Dragon Quest 11, and plenty more has revealed that it will be taking part in E3’s 2021 all-digital showcase and teased that it will have something new to show during the event.
Square Enix’s confirmation for E3 2021 was revealed in a Japanese Nikkei interview with Square Enix President Yosuke Matsuda posted on April 20, 2021, as reported by Video Games Chronicle. In the interview, Matsuda shared that Square Enix’s future plans following the launch of the Nier Replicant remaster and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will likely be revealed as part of E3 2021.

E3 2021 will be a “reimagined, all virtual” event this June, but we can now expect to see new game announcements from Square Enix at the expo. Company president Yosuke Matsuda revealed in an interview with Nikkei that Square Enix would be at the event this year.
When asked about any anticipated new titles coming in 2021, Matsuda started by mentioning that the previously delayed
Outriders launched on April 1, 2021. Also coming this month is
