DELTA LG POLLS: Eharisi-Ayomah drums support for Ofobrukueta, others

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State, Mr Joe Eharisi-Ayomah, Monday told all stakeholders to join forces and work for the victory of the Chairmanship candidate of the party, Mr Victor Ofobrukueta.
Eharisi-Ayomah who stated this while chatting with our Correspondent also told the people to deliver all councillorship candidates of the party.
He said the PDP was the only party that is committed to the wellbeing of the people of the area.
He said: “there is the need for all hands to be on deck. The March 6 election is a must-win for PDP in Ethiope East Local Government Area.
Some long serving Ijaw politicians urged to retire from active politics

High Chief Lucky Akara Gbeneyei has called on some Ijaw politicians to quit active politics, saying they had not added value to Ijaw areas in Delta state from as politicians.
A statement made available to Vanguard in Warri, Delta state by Chief Gbeneyei who is also the Gbeneyei 1 of Ogulagha Kingdom , the Osunminigbeke Tamara-Asain and the Whale and Independence of the Sea further called on Deltans to support the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for governor in the state come 2023.

Foremost unionist and former General Secretary of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Chief Frank Ovie Kokori, on Friday, called for a change in certain Urhobo traditions which he described as “rustic”.
The Ovu-born chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State made the call during church funeral service for his wife of 53 years, Mrs Esther Kokori, which held at St James Anglican Church, Ovorie-Ovu, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
Kokori, in his remarks at the tail end of the church service, frowned at the scantiness of the attendance and the hurriedness which he said did not befit a woman who held the forte for democracy while he was incarcerated at Bama prisons in Borno State by late General Sanni Abacha.
