Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Cancelled for 2nd Straight Year

Despite ongoing attempts to save it, the annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will not be held for another year after it was first cancelled in 2020.
Normally held in March, the Houston Rodeo was cancelled last year when the COVID-19 pandemic first started to spread and statewide shutdowns were announced. The 2021 Rodeo was originally rescheduled to be held in May 2021.
While some were optimistic, according to news reports, that the rodeo would be held in 2021, President and CEO of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Chris Boleman, said a recent video,

As multiple school districts on the New Hampshire Seacoast continue to see an uptick in COVID-19 cases, Gov. Chris Sununu, along with President Biden and the United States Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is applying more pressure for schools across the state to resume in-person learning.
In an announcement on Wednesday, Sununu said it’s time to get these kids back in the classroom, and echoed sentiment from the CDC s director that the mass vaccination of teachers is not a requirement for re-opening schools in a safe manner.
Meanwhile, at least 11 cases of coronavirus have been recently reported across four schools in Rochester, according to numerous press releases. In Raymond, at least three COVID-19 infections have been announced within the district.

My blood was BOILING this morning on my way to work.
Due to unfortunate circumstances, I had to be at work much earlier than normal, which meant I had to drive through school traffic, and I witnessed something that made my heart leap out of my chest.

Is The School Year Going to get Longer?
The answer here is maybe! But, not until next year!
Fox17 reported Michigan students could see additional school days if the state superintendent has his way, but that change would not come until next year.
With an historic level of local control and adds, the superintendent, Dr. Michael Rice, wants to see additional school days added so students can make up for the information they missed. He also said he wants schools to return to in-person learning this winter if they are comfortable.
The state desperately wants to get a handle on this, figure out how to best educate our kids in this space and how to get them back on track as soon as possible.
