Zulfi Bukhari resigns over Ring Road Scam - ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari has relinquished his Office to ensure a free and impartial investigation into the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) Project. In a series of tweets on Monday, Zulfikar Bukhari said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has always said that if a person has been named rightly or wrongly in any inquiry he should cease to hold any Public Office till his name has been cleared of charges. “Owing to the allegations in ongoing Ring Road inquiry I want to set this example by resigning from Office until my name is cleared up of any allegations and media’s obnoxious lies,” he said.

In a meeting with Corporate Pakistan Group (CPG) Founder Azfar Ahsan on Monday, he discussed the problem of hundi and said that government was trying to discourage overseas Pakistanis from using illegal means to transfer money to Pakistan. “To achieve that, we have to match the ease of transfer and we are working on it,” he said. “With Roshan Digital Accounts, we are making efforts to introduce different incentives to curb indirect means of transferring money to Pakistan.”
