Doctors investigating girl s death – NationNews Barbados — nationnews com

Social Share Minister of Health Jeffrey Bostic confirmed a young girl passed away, but the cause of death has not been determined. Stories making the rounds say the child died on Sunday at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital from complications caused by COVID-19, but Bostic said a dengue test was being done. The symptoms for both illnesses are similar. A news outlet from Trinidad and Tobago said the girl died from a condition called Multi-system Inflammatory Syndrome in Children, brought on by COVID. It quoted Dr Joanna Paul, Acting Medical Chief of Staff at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, who said there were 26 such cases in the twin-island republic.

2nd probe into suspects deaths starts tomorrow

Joel Balcon - Main suspect in the murder of Andrea Bharatt An internal police investigation has been ordered into the killings of criminals Joel Balcon and Andrew Morris, two of the prime suspects in the murder of 23-year-old Andrea Bharatt who was kidnapped on February 29 and her body found six days later dumped off a precipice in the Heights of Aripo. Guardian Media understands from senior police sources that two Acting Superintendents of Police have been mandated to investigate the men’s deaths following the findings of their autopsies last week. This is the second investigation which has been launched into the men’s death; the Police Complaints Authorit (PCA) initiated an investigation into the deaths last week.

Second suspect in Bharatt s case also beaten to death

Joel Balcon - Joel Balcon, one of the two suspects held for Andrea Bharatt’s kidnapping and murder, may have been beaten to death. An autopsy revealed he died from multiple blunt force trauma to the body. The autopsy was done by pathologist Dr Eslyn Mc Donald-Burris at the Forensic Sciences Centre in St James on Wednesday around noon. Balcon, 36, who had 70 charges against him for rape, kidnapping, robbery and larceny, among other things, died at the Intensive Care Unit at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope, around 2.32 pm on Monday. He was the second suspect arrested for questioning on Bharatt’s disappearance to have died in police custody.
