Man found shot dead in Laventille

POLICE are yet to identify the body of a man found with gunshot wounds in Laventille on Saturday morning.
At about 9 am, police were told there was a body at Thomasine Street, Laventille. The man had been shot in the head. There was no identification on the body.
In an unrelated shooting, an Arima man is in critical condition at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope after he was shot and his home set on fire.
Police report that around 3 am on Saturday, Larry Small of Riverside Extension, Unity Ville, Darwill Gardens, Arima was taken to the Arima Health Facility by a neighbour. The doctor told police the 32-year-old was shot in the right side of his chest and left upper abdomen.

Three foreigners who were detained following the death of a man on New Year’s Day, have been released after the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, ordered an inquest, the Police Service has confirmed.
The three suspects, ages 49, 24, and 20 years, who live in Macoya, were detained immediately following the death of Aarif Mohammed, which occurred on January 1st in Tunapuna.
Around 10:25pm on Friday 1st January 2021, police officers responded to a report of an altercation in progress at Lot No. 148 Macoya Extension Road, Tunapuna. On arrival, they interviewed several persons.
Police officers observed Aarif Mohammed, clad in a grey jersey and blue long pants lying on the ground in a pool of blood. Police officers noted that both his hands and feet were tied, and he was unresponsive but showed signs of life.
