NILES A Youngstown man is listed in critical condition after being shot early this morning.
According to a news release from Niles police, the 27-year-old was found at 181 Royal Mall Drive with a gunshot wound to his torso. When officers arrived, they found the door to the residence was kicked in, a shell casing and a gun in the victim’s waistband.
The release states the shooting victim lied about where the shooting took place, saying it happened at a local bar. But officers said further investigation shows that he was shot by a woman with whom he has a child.

WARREN A Warren woman was arraigned on two felonious assault charges and another count of endangering children for her part in a motor vehicle accident on Parkman Road NW Feb. 2 that turned into a fight.
Breeona Bishop, 24, of Willow Drive, Warren, had not guilty pleas entered into the record, according to the Warren Municipal Court website. Judge Thomas Gysegem ordered Bishop held without bond and set another hearing for 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
Bishop will remain in Trumbull County jail, where she has been since her arrest last Friday morning. The woman, according to police reports, was involved in a two-car accident the afternoon of Feb. 2 on Parkman Road NW. The accident apparently turned into road rage as groups of people were fighting in the street when officers arrived about 1:55 p.m., according to police reports.
BOARDMAN A Boardman man indicted in December in his girlfriend’s death has been arrested.
George G. Hill III, 45, is in the Mahoning County jail, according to the county website.
Hill is charged with murder and felonious assault, court records show.
He is accused of killing live-in girlfriend Jennifer Mullen, 35. Hill called police May 31 to report injuries Mullen sustained. She died at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital on June 4.
Mullen left behind two daughters and was a 2003 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School.
