JACKSON A Friday crash that sent at least two people to the hospital is being investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
According to a news release by OSP, Carol Seifert, 70, of Mineral Ridge, crashed her Chevrolet Impala into a Jeep Renegade, driven by 58-year-old Tina Zitello of North Jackson, just before 2:30 p.m. on Mahoning Avenue, west of state Route 45.
The release states witnesses saw Seifert traveling at a high rate of speed and crashing into the back of Zitello, who was forced off the right side of the road and overturned several times. Seifert also went off the road and struck several trees, the report states.

YOUNGSTOWN Bishop David Bonnar of the Diocese of Youngstown will celebrate a memorial Mass and dedicate the Homeless Jesus sculpture in memory of the Rev. Nicholas Shori on April 20 on the fifth anniversary of Shori’s death.
Officials said upon his passing in 2016, Shori made a gift to the Diocese for the installation of the Homeless Jesus sculpture at the Diocesan Central Offices in downtown Youngstown.
Shori served as the longtime pastor of St. Paul the Apostle Parish in New Middletown and as the diocesan director of the Office of Evangelization, among many other positions and ministries throughout the Diocese of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.

WEATHERSFIELD Four people were hospitalized early this morning after two vehicles collided on Salt Springs Road near the Petro Truck Stop.
According to the 911 report, one of the injured was lying on the ground and the two cars involved sustained heavy damage in the crash that occurred about 1:25 a.m.
The injured were taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, but no condition report was given.
