City police probe 3rd homicide in 3 days | News, Sports, Jobs

YOUNGSTOWN The Youngstown Police Department is investigating the third fatal shooting in as many days after a 62-year-old man was shot Sunday afternoon on the city’s South Side. Police were called out around noon Sunday to a domestic dispute where a man was found shot in a bedroom of a home at 160 E. Auburndale Ave., according to a police report. Several Youngstown police cars and two ambulances were at the scene, and the house and property were surrounded by yellow crime scene tape. A police report states the victim was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and was listed in serious condition and later died.

Mar 8, 2021 YOUNGSTOWN The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office has identified the first of three men shot to death on the South Side as Thomas Williams, 34. The separate shootings happened Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Williams was found dead in the 3200 block of South Avenue. An autopsy was conducted by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office. Police were called to the area at 11:54 p.m. Thursday by a ShotSpotter notification. ShotSpotter notifies police of gunfire on the South Side. Officers found Williams in a parking lot. They also learned that a second gunshot victim showed up at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.n
