SIX people have died after a Colorado shooter opened fire at a birthday party before turning the gun on himself.
The incident, which happened at a trailer party on Sunday, May 9, has left a community devastated. Here’s what we know about the attack.

Who was killed in the Colorado Springs attack?
Although the El Paso County Coroner s Office is expected to officially release the identities of the victims at a later date, family members of those at the party have already spoken to the media.
Nubia Marquez has said that her two brothers were killed in the shooting: Melvin Perez, 30, and Jose Guttierez, 21.
6 people killed at a Colorado Springs birthday party were part of the same extended family, a relative says
The six people killed at a birthday party in Colorado Springs were all part of the same extended family, according to a relative who left the party two hours before the shooting occurred.
Freddy Marquez, the relative, said the birthday party was for his wife, Nubia, who left with him, and Nubia’s older brother, Melvin Perez.
Marquez identified the victims as:
–Melvin Perez, who would have turned 31, brother of Nubia and Jose
–Mayra Perez, 32, wife of Melvin
–Joana Cruz, 53, mother of Nubia, Melvin, and Jose

Seven people - including the gunman - were killed at a Colorado Springs birthday party early Sunday morning, when a gunman opened fire
The victims were identified by family members as Melvin Perez, 30, his brother, Jose Guttierez, 21, and their mother, Joana Cruz, 53
Also killed in the shooting were Perez s wife, Mayra Perez, 32, and Mayra s sister Sandra Ibarra and brother Jose Ibarra. No motive has been established
Family members said the suspected gunman was the boyfriend of Sandra Ibarra, known to them only as Junior. He is the only person yet to be named
