IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Imperial County Public Health Department held its COVID-19 update Thursday along with Pioneers Memorial Health District (PMHD) and El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC). There has been a slight uptick in COVID-19 hospitalizations in the Valley. However, the number of COVID-19 patients is still trending down.
Even with a minor setback, Imperial County could avoid stepping back into the red or more restrictive tier if numbers continue to improve.

IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Imperial County Public Health Department says there is concern over weekly numbers as they fall below the required range to advance to the yellow tier or even remain in the orange tier. If numbers stay the same or worsen for a second week straight, the County will likely move back to the red tier.
ICPHD officials urge the community to continue wearing masks and follow social distancing guidelines to level out the metrics so that the County does not decline in the progress of re-opening the county to its once lively and active state.

EL CENTRO â Effective today, any Imperial County resident 16 and older is eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
County health officials said registration for appointments will continue to be available through the State of California’s My Turn system (https://myturn.ca.gov/).
