Airshare becomes latest Challenger 350 fleet operator Yves Le Marquand 13th May 2021, 10:28 Airshare has become the newest fleet operator for the Bombardier Challenger 350 business jet following an order for three of the super midsize aircraft, with options for 17 more. The order will enable the Kansas City-based private aviation company to double the size of its fractional ownership fleet in the near future, it said. Airshare said considerable due diligence went into selecting the Challenger 350 as the aircraft to expand the firm’s operations outside its core area in central US. Bombardier’s first quarter ‘a good start’ Yves Le Marquand 6th May 2021, 1:28 “We have been setting the foundations to become a more resilient and profitable business – in a nutshell, a good start [to the year] ,” said Eric Martel, president, Bombardier opening the company’s first-quarter results webcast. Martel said recovery from the Covid-19 global pandemic was progressing: “Most market trends point to a gradual reopening and strong recovery.” Bombardier’s business jet revenues are up 18% year-on-year (YoY) totalling $1.3bn, largely driven by a mix of large-cabin aircraft deliveries, it said. Business aircraft deliveries for the quarter totalled 26 units, on par with last year. Bombardier said  it remains on plan for 110-120 deliveries this year. Stronger sales activity in the first quarter yielded a unit book-to-bill ratio above 1.0, which is expected to continue into the second quarter.

Dassault: Second Falcon 6X takes flight Yves Le Marquand The second Falcon 6X flight test aircraft has completed its maiden flight, completing an “important” milestone in the development programme for the new widebody, long-range twinjet, said Dassault Aviation. Flight test aircraft number 2 made a two-hour flight on April 30th, climbing to flight Level 400 or 40,000ft (12,200m) and accelerating to a cruise speed of Mach 0.85. “We are very pleased with the progress of the Falcon 6X test programme and remain confident of meeting its target 2022 certification date,” said Eric Trappier, chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation. “We now have two aircraft in the air. Each is performing as expected and showing a high level of systems maturity for this phase of the programme. Several of our test pilots have flown the Falcon 6X. All are extremely satisfied with its performance and handling characteristics.”
