Arrest made in deadly Oxnard shooting OXNARD, Calif. - An arrest has been made in a shooting in Oxnard that left a 21-year-old man dead earlier this month. On Wednesday, Oxnard police arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of shooting and killing Cristobal Gonzalez of Oxnard. On the evening of April 4, Gonzalez was found by police on the 600 block of Howell Road suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation. For more than ten days detectives worked alongside other law enforcement agencies, including the Oxnard Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit, the FBI and the Ventura County Sheriff s Office, to identify a suspect in the shooting.

A 44-year-old Oxnard man was arrested Tuesday after detectives found heroin, methamphetamine and a 4-foot long crocodile at his residence, according to the Oxnard Police Department. The arrest took place around 6:22 p.m. in the 2500 block of Peninsula Road.

Oxnard Police find alligator during drug bust OXNARD, Calif. - Authorities got a surprise when they discovered an alligator at an Oxnard home during a drug raid. They found the alligator in the home on the 2500 Block of Peninsula Road just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Oxnard Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), Special Enforcement Unit (SEU), and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife worked together on the investigation. The alligator was found submerged in a poorly secured tank with rancid water, Oxnard Police said in a news release. Officers arrested a man for possession for sale of heroin and methamphetamine, both felonies, animal cruelty, a felony, and illegal possession of an alligator, a misdemeanor.  

Oxnard woman arrested for gun possession, narcotic sales

Oxnard Police Department OXNARD, Calif. Oxnard police arrested one woman involved in illegal drug sales and gun possession on Tuesday afternoon. On Tuesday at around 3:30 p.m., Oxnard Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit detectives and the FBI completed an investigation into an Oxnard woman selling heroin and methamphetamine. Detectives served a search warrant at her home and found methamphetamine, heroin, Xanax, cash and packaging material. Detectives also found a loaded .380 semi-automatic pistol on the table and a loaded 12-gauge shotgun in the living room closet. The woman was charged with possession for sale of methamphetamine, possession for sale of Xanax and several firearms violations.
