Arrest made in deadly Oxnard shooting
OXNARD, Calif. - An arrest has been made in a shooting in Oxnard that left a 21-year-old man dead earlier this month.
On Wednesday, Oxnard police arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of shooting and killing Cristobal Gonzalez of Oxnard.
On the evening of April 4, Gonzalez was found by police on the 600 block of Howell Road suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation. For more than ten days detectives worked alongside other law enforcement agencies, including the Oxnard Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit, the FBI and the Ventura County Sheriff s Office, to identify a suspect in the shooting.

SANTA PAULA, Calif. - Santa Paula police arrested one man early Saturday morning after he fired a rifle multiple times during a dispute with his neighbor.
Around 12:46 a.m., the Police Department s Special Enforcement Unit was reportedly conducting surveillance on the 500 block of Acacia Road. They were searching for a suspect involved in an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred earlier in the City of Ventura.
While watching the suspect, police said he started arguing with one of his neighbors. During the verbal dispute, the 24-year-old suddenly retrieved a rifle and fired two rounds, one aimed at his neighbor.

Firearm and marijuana discovered during traffic stop
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - A traffic stop in the community of Oak View led to the arrest of a Ventura man Tuesday night.
Around 6:30 p.m., a deputy patrolling the Ojai Valley stopped a car in the area of North Ventura Avenue and Woodland Avenue.
The deputy spotted numerous open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle which prompted a search.
During the search, deputies discovered a moderate amount of marijuana, a handgun and ammunition.
Following the investigation, the vehicle s passenger, a Ventura man, was taken into custody for being in possession of the firearm.
