This will remain in place until 7am tomorrow.  Met Éireann has warned that further falls of snow in places today and tonight will lead to accumulations in some areas.

Snow update: Met Eireann revises snow warning for Kilkenny Bitterly cold day ahead   ); Kilkenny has escaped an overnight  snowfall, as Met Eireann revised it s warning for snow showers across Ireland. Because the weather front bringing the snow has moved further south several counties, including Kilkenny, were removed from the Yellow Weather Warning for snow.  Counties still included in the warning are: Tipperary, Waterford, Cork, and further north counties Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal. Meanwhile the UK Met Office has also issued a Yellow - Snow and Ice Warning for Antrim, Armagh, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Derry. Kilkenny, today, will be bitterly cold with frost or ice slow to clear, according to Met Eireann. Temperature highs will be just 2 or 3 degrees.

Status Yellow snow/ice warning issued for six counties Updated / Wednesday, 30 Dec 2020 10:16 A Status Yellow snow/Ice warning has been issued for six counties. Met Éireann has forecast further snow falls in Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford leading to accumulations in some areas. The warning is valid from 6am today until midday. AA Roadwatch have reported frosty conditions on roads in Co Donegal, in Letterkenny, Milford and Buncrana areas. There are also reports of frosty roads around Carrick-on-Shannon in Co Leitrim. People are also advised to take care on local roads and sheltered routes around the country where ice may linger.

Snow and ice weather warning extended for 3 counties

This comes after Cork, Tipperary and Waterford were affected by an additional warning issued this morning that was valid until midday today. Now it appears as though the blustery conditions are only set to continue for Donegal, Leitrim, and Sligo. This comes after a snow and ice warning was issued for 13 counties yesterday, as certain parts of the country geared up for a steady amount of snowfall.  The UK Met Office also issued a similar warning for counties in the North. Antrim, Armagh, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry will all included in the warning. Most snow is expected to clear by later this morning, with highs of 2 and 3 degrees expected across the country. until nightfall.
