RAC Question Time asks if industry needs a ‘G-Gas’ regulation
Expert says industry calls to expand scope of legislation to all greenhouse gas would play an important role in improving skills
The UK and EU are both considering expanding the scope of the F-Gas regulations to apply to all greenhouse gases – a proposal that could have help address industry concerns about skills requirements and regulations about sales of hydrocarbon air conditioners.
RAC’s F-Gas Question Time event today heard how recent stakeholder events for the cooling industry held by both EU and UK authorities have acknowledged the value of expanding the scope beyond fluorinated gases to all refrigerants relied on by the industry, such as hydrocarbons. Some on the event’s expert panel contended these reforms would effectively create a ‘G-Gas regulation’ if implemented by the European Commission.
