Assam Polls 2021 Final Results: BJP+ 76; Cong+ 49
The BJP and its allies are leading in 84 seats as against 41 seats of Congress-AIUDF alliance

Guwahati: The ruling NDA alliance led by the BJP has retained power in Assam winning 76 seats in the house of 126, according to the final result published by the State Election Commission.
As per the party-wise result, the BJP has won 60 seats, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has won 09 seats, Congress has won a total of 29 seats and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has won 16 seats.
The remaining seats have been won by smaller parties.

The exit polls have given an edge to the BJP-led ruling coalition which has the regional Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) as components.

GUWAHATI: The results of the Assam elections on Sunday will decide if the BJP retains power or a nationally-weakened Congress stages a comeback.
Assam, in one way, is a vital state for both parties. For the BJP, the state is important not just for the party organisation but also for party ideology – the National Register of Citizens or NRC is its flagship ideological programme.

Both the Mitrajot and Mahajot alliances are exuding confidence about forming the next government in Assam ahead of the counting of results of the Assam Assembly elections on Sunday.
Mitrajot is the four-party alliance headed by the BJP that hopes to retain power and Mahajot comprising 10 parties is headed by opposition Congress.
