Madeleine Kielty and Charlotte Shearer were invited to an exclusive online launch of Michelle Obama s Becoming Me programme Two Clydebank teenagers have joined in the official launch of a new programme for young women around the world - run by former US First Lady Michelle Obama. Madeleine Kielty and Charlotte Shearer were the only Girl Guides from Scotland to attend the event, where they heard from Mrs Obama and watched a special USA Girl Scouts Overseas screening of Becoming Me. In addition to listening to pre-recorded interviews with Mrs Obama, the girls heard from four amazing women, each with their own Becoming stories.
IHB GP38 3800: Reborn, Rededicated

Editor’s Note: This is the story of Indiana Harbor Belt EMD GP38-3 3800, as told to Railway Age by IHB Mechanical Superintendent Michael Cunningham. The unit, purchased with a damaged prime-mover, underwent a complete rebuild and upgrade, and received a very special military tribute livery.
“This EMD GP38-3, before it came to the Indiana Harbor Belt, was Norfolk Southern 5274. This locomotive was a full rebuild done by NS in 2018, complete with a new cab. The prime-mover was upgraded to meet EPA Tier 0+ emissions standards. However, NS experienced an engine failure and sold the unit at auction to Metro East Industries (MEI). We purchased it to replace IHB 4015, a GP40 that had wreck damage. MEI provided an engine to replace the one that had failed on the NS. The replacement was overhauled in 2018 as well and meets Tier 0+ emissions standards. MEI requalified all the engine components and installed it in the locomotive.

Brock Mayor Jay Hamilton has announced his candidacy to run for Parker County judge.
Hamilton, the father of five, is a combat veteran of three wars with the U.S. military and has been a business owner of Presage Solutions for 20 years. He has been involved in the Brock community for more than 40 years.
