Chinese-American eyeing PGA Tour card after challenging 2020
All the talk on golf s Class of 2019 has so far centered around Collin Morikawa, Viktor Hovland and Matthew Wolff, whose prodigious talents and youthful exuberance have seen them take the PGA Tour by storm.
Brandon Wu, a Chinese-American who graduated from the same class, is determined to join the conversation via a different route. Had it not been for COVID-19, fans would have already seen Wu competing on golf s biggest stage.

STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) It’s safe to say Wednesday was a good day for Stevens Point Mayor Mike Wiza.
That’s when the United States Golf Association announced it would be bringing one of its major tournaments, the US Senior Open, to SentryWorld in Stevens Point from June 29th-July 2nd, 2023. A move that will bring millions in tourism dollars to the region.
But, in true Mike Wiza fashion, he opened an interview about the topic with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek.
“Are you talking about the new Dunkin’ Donuts that’s coming to Point… or the other thing?” said Wiza when he was asked to make the big announcement.

STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) â The United States Golf Association announced today that SentryWorld in Stevens Point would host the 43rd US Senior Open June 29-July 2 2023.
USGA Senior managing director John Bodenhamer said âWe know the region and community will enthusiastically support the US Senior Open and that SentryWorld will provide a complete test for the international field competing for the Francis D.Ouimet Trophy.â
The course has hosted national events before. In 1986 the US Womens Amateur Public Links finals were won by Cindy Schreyer. And in 2019 the US Girls Junior Championship was won by Lei Ye.
