During the parliamentary committee meeting that discussed the Financial Action Task Force (FATF)-related bill the minister said the opposition had sought amendment to 34 out of 38 clauses of the NAB law, which would have made the anti-graft watchdog totally irrelevant.

He pointed out that the map of prime minister s house had just been conditionally approved. He said PML-N leaders should not mislead the people with their nefarious propaganda as the people knew that Imran Khan had always followed the path of truth and principle.

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz on Sunday said that the government fully believed in press freedom, thus rejecting the reports that the media was being pressurized in the country. He made these remarks on popular microblogging site Twitter while lambasting a senior journalist’s claim about barring a media house from airing a comedic television show on its channel. Faraz said that he stood by his statement, given to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Urdu, that the media was completely free and playing an active role in Pakistan. “We have absolute faith in fundamental, constitutional and legal right of freedom of expression,” he said
